It's dark.  It's always dark.  But why? Why? The ground is grey, but I can see a light off,...off...not too far.  No, very far.  Too far.  It's impossible.  I reach, see if I can touch it.  No.  Of course.  I look down, or up.  The ground is grey, the sky...the sky...I see no sky.   Ah!  My shoulder!  The pain is too much...why?  I touch my shoulder, I know they are here, I can't see them, but I think, I know, they have come.

The world is turning upside down.  Now the sky is grey and the ground is black.   I feel the weight of It.  Sam pulled me up.  He's talking to me, I  think.  What?   What's he saying?  Why can't I hear him?   I'll be alright!  Can't he hear me?

My eyes...burn, burning...burning...always....I close them, but it's no use.  I only see him more clearly.  The Eye...it pierces all, tears into me, drawing It to him.  No, I won't let you have It!  I can't let you have this!  My body feels cold.  Yet I feel something streaking down my face...my burning eyes!  I'm trying to hid from him, I don't want him to see me.
Hi! This is Maggie. I wrote this story before Danny wrote his Samwise story, but the two are connected and tell each character's point of view to the same situation. Like Danny said, it's based on a part of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King movie and book. It's when the Eye of Sauron almost spots Frodo and Sam and they have to hide. It's changed a little bit to be somewhat longer. At the time that this is taking place, Frodo's mind is so affected by the burden of the Ring that he can barely think normally. The style of this fan fiction that I wrote is not only based on LOTR but on a book called "The Sound and the Fury". In that book, the same story is told from four different points of view. The first point of view is told by a man who is mentally handicapped and thinks at the level of a young child. I really liked how he told his story because he reacted to sights, sounds, etc. and told his story without the complex and often misguided interpretation of his brillant brother or the cynical viewpoint of his other brother. In this story, Frodo reacts to the sights and sounds of Mordor as well as Sam's voice, but keep in mind it won't make much sense unless you look at it from the point of view of a child or an observer. I really tried to get into Frodo's mind, and the way I see it his mind is racing, he's unable to deeply concentrate and interpret anything other than the Ring and trying to destroy it. Sam's story explains what is actually happening to himself and to his suffering best friend. Sometime soon I'll write an interpretation of Frodo's story. Hope you like it! btw...here is the link for Sam's Story, written by Danny (well we collaborated to write them both, but he wrote most of Sam's and I wrote most of Frodo's :-)) link:---> [link]
