Inside My Mind... by ThreeRingCinema Inside My Mind... by ThreeRingCinema
After I finished my mask, I decided to do some Phantom of the Opera inspired photography. I gathered some things that I thought go along with the story, and I placed some black satin against my dresser for the backdrop. The rose isn't real, but I did put a ring and a black ribbon on it like in the movie! :-) The parchment is actually a replica of the Emancipation Proclamation, but I thought it looked Phantom-ish...if I covered up the Abraham Lincoln signature :D Well I hope you like it, and I'll be doing more Phantom photography once I finish my Christine costume and the cloak that Erik wears! :D
~Maggie

P.S. Just a note...In case anyone is wondering why there is a violin in the picture, it's actually there for a few reasons. One reason is because Christine's father is a well known violinist, so I thought that would add to the photo. Also, the Phantom plays the violin in the book by Gaston Leroux when Christine goes to her father's grave; there's a chapter called "The Enchanted Violin"; so that's why there's the violin! But since Erik is known more for playing the organ, I'll be doing some photography with a small organ soon!! :D

Phantom of the Opera is Gaston Leroux, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Joel Schumacher

Very great picture! But it would have been better if there has not have the division on the violin.

think it might help the effect a bit if you, perhaps, took the fingering tapes off the violin...hehe...no harm meant

Lovely composition. I like how you put in the violin - in my opinion the book is much better than the play. But as they are so different at parts, I love them both.
By the way, I was wondering, do you play the violin?

Thank you very much for your compliment!!! I love the book very much as well, I plan on re-reading it again soon. I'd love to see the play again though too :-)
No, I don't play the violin, but I would love to!! The only thing is trying to find time for lessons! :-P

It is very good, but the violin does not belong. Erik never was a violinist. If you may, try the same picture with a piano or, even better, with an organ.

Thank you, I'm glad that you like it! But I added the violin mostly because Christine's father is a famous violinist. Also, even though Erik isn't known for playing the violin, he did play it once in the original book by Gaston Leroux when Christine went to her father's grave at Perros Cemetary (the chapter was called "The Enchanted Violin", so that's what made me think of using it) But thank you for your suggestions! Actually, my parents do have a small organ, so I'm planning on doing some photography with that soon!

Sadly, no, I cannot play the violin....I can (sort of) play the harp - I took lessons for like two years; my parents got me this violin for Christmas one year and I'd love to learn how to play! But thanks for the comment, glad you like it!!! :D
